The Shelter Box idea was conceived by a Rotarian who had seen at first hand the results of natural disasters in many parts of the world. Each box contains a range of contents, from a tent to cooking equipment, from a water purification kit to blankets and tools, and provides critical support a family which has been made homeless. The contents of each Box vary according to the type of emergency and the area into which they are being sent.
